Commentary: Rohingya Genocide in Myanmar in news again

Aung Suu Kyi : Nobel Peace Prize and genocide!
Even though democracy is alleged to have arrived in Myanmar and the present de facto ruler Aung Saan Su Kyi happens to be a Nobel Peace Prize winner, the Rohingya population in a largely Buddhist state are being eliminated. A large population of the Rohingyas now live in Bangladesh and neighbouring Thailand in refugee camps and ghettos. Somehow given the migration crisis in Europe and the recent turn of events in the USA, it has become possible for the Myanmar government to bombard the Rohingya settlements and force them to move elsewhere, or else face the direst consequences possible. Indeed a Wiki page is devoted entirely to the Rohingya genocide, and this recent report in the Indian press only reminds us of the continuing outrage in our immediate neighbourhood.
